  Welcome from Dean Stamp

The graduate programs at Binghamton University are dedicated to preparing our students for the challenges that they will face in their careers. Consequently, our graduates obtain good jobs and are quite successful in their chosen careers.

For its academics, Binghamton University is consistently ranked in the top 50 public universities in the US. Currently, we have about 2,800 graduate students (or 21% of the total enrollment at Binghamton), and we offer more than 50 graduate programs.

Nonetheless, Binghamton University is continually creating new and innovative graduate programs to ensure that our students are prepared for the future. For example, now graduate students can use the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program to design a research project with faculty among several departments or even schools within Binghamton University. Graduate students can now submit their theses and dissertations electronically, which means that multimedia can be embedded, such as stanzas of music, rotating molecules or video clips of sign language. This opens the doors for greater creativity. The Graduate School has partnered with the Career Development Center, Center for Learning & Teaching and Center for Quality to provide workshops to help graduate students develop "core competencies", such as big-picture thinking, teamwork, leadership, communication and teaching skills.

We would like to hear from you. We would like to know how you are doing. Your graduate colleagues often ask us about you. And we welcome your suggestions and comments.
