Current Funding Reminders

Deadlines in May

  • Fall 2008 Appointments need to be submitted on a smartform by May 31, 2008, to ensure that your student will receive funding for stipends and/or tuition in Fall 2008. The Graduate School reserves the right to reallocate funds not appointed by that time.
  • Domestic students residing in NY who receive a tuition scholarship must file a FAFSA before classes begin. We will be running reports to review this information and will need to withdraw tuition scholarships in 0809 if the FUNDED DOMESTIC student does not have a FAFSA on file for 0809.
  • Domestic students in their first year who are receiving funding must establish residency before the first day of classes by making sure they have several of the following documents with a NY address: drivers license, rental lease, car registration, etc. See the student accounts website for details. (http://www.binghamton.edu/studentaccounts/residenc.htm)
  • Domestic students in their second year must be sure to go to the Student Accounts office and file an application for residency in NY and bring the documents in the previous paragraph to prove you have been here one year. This must be done before classes start Fall 2008.
  • TAGA stipend charges for 0708: Each department should review their Oracle stipend charges for 0708 to make sure they have charged their stipends to the correct POETS. Please be sure to notify Paul Spencer of your correction by May 31, 2008. After this date, all allocation balances (if there are any) will be allocated to other expenses and not available for any corrections.
  • Graduate Workstudy line requests are being reviewed this week and those departments will be contacted with the decision on allocation and the stipend amount.
  • Clark Fellowships: The Graduate School is still looking for your new Fall 2008 student that would qualify for a Clark Fellowship. Please contact Aneesa Thomas at adavern@binghamton.edu
